Próbáld csak ki! Helyezd vissza a jól ismert Grimm-mese, a Piroska és a farkas angol nyelvű történetébe a következő 20 kifejezést! Once upon a time there lived a sweet little girl, who was beloved by every one who saw her; but her grandmother was so excessively fond of her that she never knew when she had thought and done enough of her.

One day the grandmother presented the little girl with a red __________(1) cap; and as it fitted her very well, she would never wear anything else; and so she was called Little Red-Cap. One day her mother said to her "Come, Red-Cap, here is a piece of nice meat, and a bottle of wine: take these to your grandmother; she is ill and __________(2), and will relish them. So Little Red-Cap opened her eyes and when she saw how the sunbeams glanced and danced through the trees, and what spendid flowers were __________(10) in her path, she thought, "If I take my grandmother a fresh nosegay she will be very __________(11); and it is so very early that I can, even then, get there in good time;" and running into the forest she looked about for flowers. Ezeket a gondolatokat aktív nyelvtanárként és örök nyelvtanulóként 'vetettem papírra'.

VIVA LIFELONG LEARNING!

Mielőtt nyelvet tanulni kezdenél vagy folytatnál, mindenképpen olvasd el ezt a motivációs tipplistát, amely a sikeres nyelvtanuláshoz elengedhetetlen mentális hozzáállás és állhatatosság alappilléreit veszi sorra.

1. Légy korrekt partner! Az alapvető hozzáállásod a nyelvtanuláshoz döntően befolyásolja a sikerességedet és a jövődet idegennyelv-használóként. A nyelvtanulás nem hasonlít egy vásárlási tranzakcióhoz. Tehát attól, hogy fizettél, még nem garantált, hogy késztermékként automatikusan ’tudást’ kapsz majd cserébe kizárólag azért, mert pénzedet adtad érte. A nyelvkurzusodon lehetőséged nyílik szivacsként magadba szívni mindent, amit a Te szinteden a tanárod átadni igyekszik Neked (és csoporttársaidnak). Az együttműködés sikeressége 50%-ban a Te erőfeszítéseiden és képességeiden múlik, és csak a másik fele az övéin.

Tipp a tippben: A GYIF (gyakran ismételt félreértések) elkerülése végett a kurzusvezetőd munkakörébe nem tartoznak bele a következők: a két lábon járó szótárként való funkcionálás az egyéni szótárhasználatod kiváltása érdekében; illetve önéletrajzod, motivációs leveled és nyelvórán kívüli dokumentumaid lefordítása/kijavítása/átírása/megírása saját szabadidejének rovására. Az előbbi nem azt jelenti, hogy nem kérdezhetsz tőle, hanem azt, hogy az önálló munkát ne spórold meg magadnak, ha házi feladatnak pl. fordítást kaptál. Az utóbbi igényed felmerülése esetén érdeklődj a tanárodtól, hogy milyen feltételekkel vállal ilyen jellegű plusz munkát.

2. Tiszteld meg a tanárod a bizalmaddal! Mielőtt tanárt vagy iskolát választunk, előzetesen mindig gondosan utánajárunk a jóhírének és színvonalának, meggyőződünk róla, hogy minőséget kapunk, vagy éppen kifejezetten ajánlás alapján jutunk el valakihez. Ezért, ha már egyszer egy helyzetben oktatóddá válik valaki, az nem lehet véletlen. A legvalószínűbb szituáció ilyenkor az, hogy bizonyára sokat tanulhatsz az illetőtől (legyen az ’bárki’ abban a helyzetben), így a legjobb, ha minimum 6-12 hónapig kitartasz mellette - hacsak nem emberileg kifogásolható a viselkedése. Ennyi idő azért kell, hogy kiderüljön, produktív-e ez a tanár-diák felállás. Ha nem, még mindig válthatsz – indokoltan.

Tipp a tippben: Ha egy újdonsült tanárod által mondott dolog teljesen új Neked vagy korábbi forrásaiddal (barát, anyuka, főnök, korábbi tanár stb.) esetleg ellentmond, ne fogadd a mondandóját eleve hitetlenkedve és bizalmatlanul azzal, hogy „Hát, ezt én még sosem hallottam!" vagy „X.Y. azt mondta/nem ezt mondta.”  A forrásaid, amelyekre most hivatkozol, egyáltalán nem biztos, hogy szakmailag megalapozottak. Akárhogy is, valamiért mégiscsak az újrakezdő angolos kurzuson ülsz, ugye?

3. Légy szorgalmas! Tedd oda magad, ha már a tanulás mellett döntöttél. Próbáld úgy intézni az időbeosztásodat, hogy lehetőleg minden órán meg tudj jelenni (kifejezetten, ha kezdő vagy újrakezdő vagy!), hacsak nem betegszel le. Arra is gondolj, hogy a nyelvóráidon kívül is időt kell szánni a gyakorlásra – beesni az órákra készületlenül nem lesz elég a fejlődésedre. Vedd fel a nyelvtanulást a prioritásaidba, ez egy nagyon fontos befektetés a jövődbe. Ha valami váratlan közbejön, ne az angolóra legyen az, amit legelsőnek sztornózol, hanem mérlegeld, hogy mire kötelezted el magad és hol áll a fontossági sorrendedben az idegennyelvtudás megszerzése: ne szervezz rá fodrászt és hasonló más programot az angolórád időpontjára, főleg, ha az már korábban a naptáradban volt. Végül pedig: jó ha tudod, hogy a statisztika alapján sokkal sikeresebbek és eredményesebbek a kevésbé tehetséges szorgalmasok, mint a jobb adottságokkal rendező lusták!

Tipp a tippben: Mindig készítsd el a házi feladatodat és ha még van energiád, keress magadnak olyan elfoglaltságot, amihez kell angolozni és nagyon élvezed: ÖTLETEK ITT.

4. Légy türelmes! Adj időt és teret magadnak és a tanárodnak is. Legyél tudatában annak, hogy egy komoly nyelvtudás mögött hosszú, aktív évek állnak. Középfokra eljutni például minimum 600 nyelvórányi idő kell, folyamatos ’terhelés’ mellett! A hosszabb kihagyások esetén ennél még több időre lehet szükség, mert újra elő kell hívni belőled azt is, amit elfelejtettél és csak utána lehet továbblépni. Ha 2 évvel ezelőtt a középfok közelébe kerültél, de azóta szinte alig használtad a nyelvet, lehet, hogy a szintfelmérésnél derül majd ki, hogy 2-3 modult is visszaestél. Ezen nincs mit meglepődni, teljesen normális eset. Ezért ne siettesd a tanárod, mert ő ideális esetben pontosan tudja, hogy mi mire épül a nyelvoktatásban és ezeket a lépcsőket nem lehet átugorni.

Tipp a tippben: Mindannyian emberek vagyunk, alkalmasint hibázunk vagy elfáradunk. Soha nem láthatsz bele igazán a másik életébe és problémáiba, így sose hasonlítgasd a teljesítményedet más diákéhoz. Nincs két egyforma képességű és hátterű ember, így legjobb, ha másokkal empatikus és szolidáris vagy miközben a magad fejlődését csak a korábbi önmagadhoz és teljesítményedhez méred. Tedd fel magadnak a kérdést: „Előre haladok, stagnálok vagy visszaestem az utóbbi időben? Mindent megteszek, ami tőlem telik, hogy jobb legyek?” Ebből fogod tudni, hogy jó úton vagy-e. Nincs két egyforma ritmusban fejlődő nyelvtudás sem, ezért figyeld meg magadat: a csoportos óra 'felfelé húz', esetleg hátráltat-e, elbújsz-e benne vagy motivál? Valaki ’lubickol’ csoportban, mások akkor érzik jobban magukat, ha egy magánórán a figyelem 100%-át ők kapják meg és esélyük sincs passzívnak maradni az órán. Az utóbbiak ne erőltessék a csoportos kurzusok látogatását, hanem keressenek magántanárt: jó eséllyel jobb eredményt fognak elérni. Dióhéjban: ismerd meg magad és a számodra leghatékonyabb tanulási formát válaszd.

5. Légy kitartó! Ne add fel, ha nem sikerül valami elsőre vagy másodikra. Próbáld addig, amíg sikerül. A híres feltalálók és a most elismert sztárok sztorijai tele vannak a legendás kezdeti bukásaikkal, de a közös bennük mindig melyik motívum is? Hogy felálltak, leporolták magukat és újrakezdték, és egyszer csak bejött nekik a nagy dobás. A legsikeresebb világsztárok (köztük Oprah Winfrey, vagy a Beatles) nagyon mélyről törtek fel és ’tagadják’ a szerencse fogalmát. Helyette azt vallják, hogy rengeteg munka árán felkészülten és már viszonylag sok tapasztalattal ’várták’ a nagy lehetőséget. Ha a kudarcodat erőfeszítés előzte meg, akkor az erőfeszítés valószínűleg még nem volt elegendő. Valamin változtatnod kell és valamiből több kell. Fektess be több munkát. Ha nem jön össze egy teszt vagy vizsga, ne omolj össze, ne hibáztass mindenki mást, ne ostorozd magad feleslegesen azzal, hogy nincs nyelvérzéked. Vizsgáld meg a szorgalmad, DUST YOURSELF OFF AND TRY AGAIN. Bármilyen hihetetlen, de a nyelvtanulás olyan, mint az élsport: minden nap órákat edzeni kell, ha bajnok akarsz lenni. Remember: PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. (Ismétlés a tudás anyja.)

Tipp a tippben: Keress alternatív fejlesztőket, összeszedtem Neked több mint 10db-ot IDE. A gyengébb készségeid fejlesztésére szánj több időt.

6. Légy nyitott és befogadó! A helyzet az, hogy a magyar nyelv gyönyörű; tény, hogy sokkal nehezebb mint a legtöbb nyelv a világon, de e mellett csak a magyarok beszélik. Ezen túl, az angollal szinte semmilyen párhuzam nem fedezhető fel benne. Az angol nyelvben teljesen más szabályok érvényesülnek a kiejtésben, a szórendben, az egész nyelvtanában, nem is beszélve arról, hogy rendkívül idiomatikus nyelv. Ez azt jelenti, hogy szinte annyi jellegzetes kifejezés (szólás, közmondás, szókapcsolat stb.) van benne, mint szó. Ezek jelentését a legtöbb esetben kisilabizálni lehetetlen, az ember fokozatosan tanulja meg őket. Melyik kezdő angolos tudná kitalálni pl. azt, hogy „A PIECE OF CAKE” azt jelenti „pofon egyszerű” vagy, hogy a „MAKE ENDS MEET” a „megélni” igét takarja magyarul?? Ilyenkor a „Miért?” kérdést hallgatóként feltenni badarság. Fogadd el, hogy a világon minden nyelv bizonyos dolgokban önkényes és arra sincs semmilyen logikus magyarázat, hogy mi miért hívjuk a kutyát kutyának vagy éppen ebnek. JUST BECAUSE! (Csak!) Ha nem akarsz sokat szenvedni, akkor az új vagy logikátlannak tűnő jelenségeken ne háborodj fel, hanem fogadd őket derűsen és érdeklődve, akár egy adag rácsodálkozással :) Ezzel a magad életét is megkönnyíted és végül is egy idegen nyelv elsajátításával nem egy rakat összefüggéstelen szót fogsz magadra szedni, hanem egy gondolkodásmódot és jó esetben egy egész kultúrát is megismerhetsz. TAKE IT EASY AND HAVE FUN! (Vedd lazán és mulass jól!)

7. Légy alázatos! Ne feledd, hogy mindig van feljebb, akármennyi ideje is tanulsz valamit és mindig fogsz olyan tanárt vagy más egyént találni, aki tud Neked még újat mondani. Csak szerényen! A jelszó: LIFELONG LEARNING (tanulás egy életen át)!

8. Légy bátor és ambíciózus! Ez egybevág a 3. ponttal, de több is annál. Mindig fogd fel a tanulási folyamatot – a teszteket, szóbeli tréningeket, nyelvvizsgákat, felvételiket és állásinterjúkat stb. – kihívásként, illetve egy lehetőségként, ahol gyakorolhatsz és tapasztalatra tehetsz szert! Ezek azokra az élethelyzetekre készítenek fel, ahol már nem lesz ott veled senki, aki fogja a kezed – de előtte meg kell tanulnod járni felügyelet mellett. Ne legyél túl félénk és ne tarts attól, hogy hibázni fogsz, mert e nélkül fejlődni lehetetlen! Pont a tapasztalatszerzésből maradsz ki, ha ellógod a vizsgát; ha nem szólalsz meg a Speaking órán, mert félsz, hogy valamit rosszul mondasz; és akkor is, ha mindörökre elkedvetlenít, hogy nem vettek fel az első angol állásinterjúd után arra a bizonyos pozícióra, amire jelentkeztél. Ne sértődj meg, ha a tanár kijavít: ebből megtudod, hogy mit hibáztál, de azt is, hogy helyesen hogy hangzik az, amit mondani szerettél volna. Ez az egész dolog lényege! Akarj fejlődni és helyesebben beszélni angolul! Ugyanakkor azt se ródd fel az oktatódnak, ha nem javít ki lépten-nyomon minden hibádat, mert erre két oka is lehet: 1. a FLUENCY (folyékonyság) fejlesztése, ahol a cél, hogy folyamatosan tudj beszélni egy témáról vagy 2. épp egy szóbeli vizsgán veszel részt, ahol már nem folyik javítás, csak különböző szempontok szerinti értékelés.

Tipp a tippben: Mindenben keresd az alkalmat a tökéletesedésre és a tanulásra, legyen az egy következő szintű nyelvkurzusra való beiratkozás, próba nyelvvizsga, felvételi, verseny, ösztöndíj megszerzése, vagy bármi egyszerűbb, ami célt ad és előre visz.

9. Légy kíváncsi! A kíváncsiság egy nagyon jótékony motor, ha nyelvtanulásról van szó. A kíváncsi ember kérdez és szinte minden esetben kap valami választ a kérdésére, amely továbblendíti a megértés felé. Ne szégyelld azt, hogy nem értettél meg valamit, tedd fel a kérdésedet újra, miután az első választ megrágtad magadban, de mégsem világosodtál meg igazán. Az is kiderülhet, hogy valamit félreértettél vagy helytelenül értelmeztél vagy csak pontatlan információid voltak. Ezek mindegyikén segít a kérdezés. Egy jó tanár eleve érdeklődik egy új anyag felvezetése után, hogy van-e bárkinek bármi kérdése vagy minden világos. Ilyenkor feltétlen használd ki az alkalmat és kérdezz. Lehet, hogy hihetetlen, de van úgy, hogy egy jelenségre nincs ’logikus’ válasz. Ilyenkor el kell fogadni azt, hogy bármely nyelv önkényesen alakul az idők folyamán és simán csak meg kell jegyezni (tanulni) azt, hogy bizonyos esetekben hogyan működik.

Tipp a tippben: A kérdezéssel kapcsolatban csak egy kritikus dologra kell ügyelni: a tanárt a magyarázat folyamatában ne szakítsd félbe kérdéssel, mert egyrészt ez őt és a többi diákot is megzavarja, másrészt lehet, hogy pont most fog rátérni arra, ami Téged foglalkoztat. Mindenképp várd meg, míg befejezi a mondandóját. Ha attól tartasz, hogy addigra elfelejted a kérdésed, akkor írd le a füzetedbe.

10. Légy öntevékeny! A kíváncsiság és az ambíció vezet el oda, hogy valaki a 21. században ne függjön kizárólag a tanárától, ha tanulási segédanyagot vagy mondjuk vizsgainformációt akar találni magának a házi feladatain kívül. Egy olyan eszköz van a kezetekben, ami hihetetlen módon megkönnyíti az informálódást és a nyelvtanuláshoz hasznos anyagok felkutatását: ez pedig az Internet. Az én generációm még nélküle kezdett el nyelvet és minden mást tanulni, annak, aki viszont DIGITAL NATIVE (azaz beleszületett az IT világába és napi szinten használja azt), az 5 másodperc alatt ki tudja keresni a SMARTPHONE-ján a fordításhoz szükséges szó jelentését egy online szótárban. Ma már elég gyenge kifogás azt mondani, hogy „szótár hiányában nem tudtam megcsinálni a homework-öt”, vagy „nem tudom, hogy hány perces a nyelvvizsga”, vagy „nem találok magamnak készségfejlesztőt, könnyített olvasmányt és nem láttam még egy idegen nyelvű videót sem”. Ajánlom a Google-t, a YouTube-ot és a többit.

+1. Szeresd, amit csinálsz! Végül, de nem utolsósorban, nagyon fontos, hogy élvezd a nyelvtanulást magát és szeresd azt a bizonyos nyelvet, amit magas szinten el szeretnél sajátítani, hiszen a megismerésével több leszel. Ma már mindenkitől elvárt, hogy 'gagyogjon' legalább egy idegen nyelven, legalább társalgási szinten (haladó), amelyek között még mindig listavezető az angol. Számomra ez a nyelv szerelem volt első hallásra, de ez nyilván nem várható el mindenkitől. Ha Te másképp érzel, próbáld belecsempészni az angolt olyan dolgokba, amelyeket egyébként imádsz. Olvass, nézz filmeket, fejts keresztrejtvényt angolul, vásárolj angol nyelvű társasjátékot, utazgass olyan helyre, ahol elkerülhetetlen, hogy használnod kelljen a nyelvet vagy fordítsd le a kedvenc zenekarod összes dalszövegét. A lényeg, hogy foglalkozz vele, biztos lehetsz benne hogy meghálálja a törődést! :)

Theirs is the fairy-tale romance that has kept the world gripped since love first blossomed back in the spring of 2016. Now HRH Prince Harry has officially confirmed he will marry his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle. Their engagement was announced by Harry's father, HRH Prince Charles, last Monday. Clarence House said in a statement: 'His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms Meghan Markle.'

The couple will wed in spring 2018, with May 19 widely tipped to be the date for their nuptials. Opening up during the engagement in their first joint interview, Harry, 33, and Meghan 36, revealed to the BBC's Mishal Husain how he proposed 'a few weeks ago', about 18 months after they first met. [_____1_____] 'It was just an amazing surprise,' said Meghan, who revealed it was 'an instant yes' from her. 'It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.' she added.

Recalling the moment, Harry said: 'She didn't even let me finish, she said:"Can I say yes? Can I say yes?" and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like: "Can I - can I give you the ring?" She goes: "Oh, yes, the ring!" He continued: 'It was a really nice moment, just the two of us.'

The ring was designed by Harry, with Meghan describing it as 'beautiful' and 'incredible'. The classic yellow gold band features three stones - the larger, central diamond is from Botswana, where the couple have spent time together in the past 18 months. In a fitting tribute to his mother, the two outside diamonds are from the late Diana, Princess of Wales's personal collection 'to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together', explained Harry.

The couple described how they had met on a blind date arranged by a mutual female friend. 'I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her and I thought, right, I need to up my game and make sure I've got good chat,' laughed Harry.

Their meeting led to two further dates in London, and the besotted prince then persuaded Meghan to join him on holiday in Botswana a few weeks later. 'We camped out with each other under the stars...She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic,' adding: 'It was absolutely amazing to get to know her as quickly as I did.'

On spending a lot of time at home together while dating instead of being seen in public, Harry said: 'We had to reverse the whole process. Cosy nights in front of the television, cooking dinner just the two of us by ourselves in our little cottage, rather than going out for dinner and being seen in public. It's made us a hell of a lot closer in a shorter space of time, without question.'

Meanwhile, Meghan confirmed she has already met Harry's grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, 'a couple of times' and revealed that 'she's an incredible woman'. Praising his grandparents, Harry said they had been 'wonderful throughout this whole process' and called it 'a miracle' that they hadn't told anyone about the secret romance.

The couple giggled as they revealed that the Queen's pet pooches took an instant liking to Meghan, laying on her feet during tea. 'The corgis took to you straight away,' Harry reminded his fiancée during the interview. 'I've spent the last 33 years being barked at - this one walks in, absolutely nothing, just wagging tails!'

Speaking about Meghan's meetings with other members of the royal family, Harry told his brother HRH Prince William 'was longing to meet her and so was [his wife[ Catherine'. He added that HRH the Duchess of Cambridge 'has been absolutely amazing, as has William as well'.

Harry also described 'a handful of teas and meetings' with his father Prince Charles, praising the wonderful support his family have shown them as a couple. The royal also spoke emotionally about how his late mother would have loved his future wife. 'They'd be thick as thieves, without question,' Harry said. 'I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down - you know, so excited for me...She would have probably been best friends, best friends with Meghan.' [_____3_____]

On a more uplifting note, Harry reflected on his powerful feelings for Meghan: 'The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned, everything was just perfect. This beautiful woman just tripped and fell into my life and I fell into her life.'

Crediting her with having the qualities to take on such a prominent royal role, he said: 'I know that she'll be really unbelievably good at the job part of it,' adding it's 'obviously a huge relief to me as she'll be able to deal with everything else that comes with it. We're a fantastic team, we know we are'.

Meghan added that their shared passion to strive for change in the world was one of the first things they 'connected on'.

Vowing always to put their relationship first, Harry confirmed: 'A couple of months in when I thought, I know that I'm in love with this girl and I hope she's in love with me.'

They glossed over the subject of children, merely saying that they're taking it 'one step at a time', with Harry saying: 'Hopefully we'll start a family in the near future.'

Earlier that day, on the dot of 2pm, Harry and Meghan greeted the waiting media at Kensington Palace for the highly -anticipated engagement photo call.

Holding hands, the besotted couple walked briskly through the formal sunken gardens, one of Diana's favourite places.

Meghan, who looked beautiful in a white belted £450 coat by Line The Label which she wore over a dark green dress by PAROSH, teamed with Aquazzura cream heels and gold and opal earrings from Les Plaisirs de Birks, gave Harry's arm a reassuring rub as the visibly nervous, but elated, prince prepared to announce the news.

Encouraged by Harry, who was dressed in a dark blue suit and tie, Meghan gave the cameras a flash of her stunning engagement ring, which was designed by Harry himself and crafted by British jewellers Cleave & Company, court jewellers and medallists to Her Majesty the Queen.

Adelle Thompson, head of buying at Beaverbrooks, explained: 'The three stones are said to represent a couple's past present and future together - a romantic and meaningful gesture from the prince.'

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told OK! of Harry's decision to pay tribute to his late mother: 'It's really sweet. Obviously Prince William was able to give his late mother's engagement ring to Kate, so this is a very nice touch from Harry and his version of making that gesture that nod to his mother, which would have been important to him.'

Asked by a reporter if the proposal was romantic, a grinning Harry remarked: 'Of course it was!' Harry also said he was 'over the moon' to be engaged, while Meghan said she was 'so very happy'. When asked when he knew Meghan was the one, he replied: 'The very first time we met'. Harry also jokingly added: 'I'm very glad it's not raining as well!'

Harry then pulled a giggling Meghan closer to him as she placed a perfectly manicured hand on his chest before retreating to the palace to record their interview.

As soon as the news was announced, Meghan's parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland - who divorced when Meghan was six years old - publicly congratulated their daughter, saying in a statement: 'We are incredibly happy for Maghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.'

Harry's brother and sister-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also revealed their delight at the impending royal wedding, commenting: 'We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.'

In accordance with royal protocol, Harry, who is fifth in line to the throne, sought the approval of his grandmother Her Majesty the Queen before making the news public.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were also quick to send their best wishes, saying they were 'delighted' for their grandson, adding that they 'wish them every happiness'.

Also commenting on their engagement, Duncan, who has worked closely with Harry as a royal correspondent, told OK!: 'Harry has never looked so happy. He's like the cat that got the cream. He's marrying for love. It doesn't matter all this discussion of whether Meghan is suitable or not, clearly the Queen and Prince Charles have allowed this to happen because they can see how serious and happy he is. He's had a long search for the right person.' [_____4_____] He'll be mostly relieved that she said yes! They'll be quite excited. He's followed his brother's blueprint."

While a wedding date has not officially been made public at the time of going to press, it was widely speculated that the event could take place on April 20, a Windsor Castle revealed they would be closed on that date, and the days before and afterwards, although a spokesperson said they could not comment on private events.

St George's Chapel inside Windsor Castle would prove to be the perfect location for their big day - while it is smaller than Westminster Abbey, where Harry's brother William married Kate in April 2011, it is still grand enough to host a high-profile royal wedding.

Duncan, who is the author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, says he would be 'very surprised' if the wedding is not held at St George's Chapel, telling OK!: 'Windsor Castle is the most likely venue.' He adds: 'If Harry wanted to sort his wedding plans out, he would choose a country church and a local pub with very few close mates, but that's obviously not going to happen. That's about as likely as a Las Vegas stag do!'

While not believed to be on the same scale as William and Kate's big day, royal experts are still convinced it will be an impressive affair. Duncan says: 'I think Prince Harry will have a big wedding. I don't think he would want to disappoint the public. On the wedding day they will do a double reception like William and Kate did, which will involve a formal set-piece reception, followed by a slightly more intimate affair with family and friends.' As for the entertainment, Duncan says: 'We could have some American razzmatazz! The question is, how much will belong to royal protocol? Will they have Beyoncé there and have fireworks at midnight, or will it be much more traditional?'

It is believed that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will perform the wedding after his predecessor Rowan Williams conducted the marriage of Kate and William. The Queen and Prince Philip were also married by the Archbishop of Canterbury, while the religious leader also carried out the christenings of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, proving he has a special relationship with the royals. 

Taking to Twitter following the news of the engagement, Justin wrote: 'I'm absolutely delighted to hear the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now engaged. [_____5_____] It is also assumed that, on the morning of his wedding, the Queen will give Harry the title the Duke of Sussex, meaning Meghan will become the Duchess of Sussex following their vows. The actress, who recently filmed her last series of US legal drama Suits, will automatically become Her Royal Highness and will become a full-time member of the royal family, who will be expected to carry out duties alongside her husband. 'I think what lies ahead is life as a full-time working royal, which comes at a crucial time when the Queen is in her nineties and in need for some of the burden, in particular her foreign overseas travel, to be lifted,' says Duncan, adding: 'She also now has a much bigger platform from which to make change with her charity work.'

As for what this means for the royal family, he adds: 'I think this is an absolute demonstration of how William and in particular Harry have transformed the relevance of the modern British royal family. Harry is so popular. They could have a Shrek-themed wedding and the public would love it. It wouldn't matter!'

The couple's exciting announcement follows months of mounting speculation about their intentions. Rumours of an engagement went into full throttle in mid-October when it was claimed that Meghan spent an afternoon with the Queen at Buckingham Palace, where they chatted and sipped tea.

Meanwhile, last month bookmakers suspended odds on a royal wedding taking place next year, amid claims the prime minister, Theresa may, had been primed for an 'imminent' announcement.
